Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare to monitor and control drug and alcohol related incidents
- Risk control measures for identified hazards in the workplace are prioritised, implemented and evaluated in accordance with workplace procedures
- Relevant stakeholders are provided with possible solutions and options within the scope of workplace procedures
- Scope of responsibility regarding the drug/alcohol abuse related incident is obtained and confirmed with relevant person/s in accordance with job requirements and workplace procedures
- Responsibilities for first aid and other emergency incidents at the work site are confirmed with relevant person/s in accordance with workplace procedures
- Issues related to the drug/alcohol abuse are referred to appropriate person/s in accordance with workplace procedures
- Monitor and control drug and alcohol related incidents
- Potential hazards and safety risks associated with drug and alcohol related incidents are reported to authorised person/s for directions in accordance with workplace procedures
- Unplanned events and non-routine problems encountered when monitoring and controlling drug and alcohol abuse incident are referred to authorised person/s for directions in accordance with workplace procedures
- Problem-solving skills are applied and relevant remedial action taken when monitoring and controlling drug and alcohol abuse in accordance with workplace, drug and alcohol policies and procedures
- Relevant reports on drug and alcohol abuse incidents are completed and provided to authorised person/s in accordance with workplace, drug and alcohol policies and procedures
